I started my morning hopping on the light rail to downtown Seattle to meet up with Aaron. We had connected through Threads a few months back while I was still traveling in New Zealand. I could tell from the get go that Aaron was a genuine guy, so when he asked about brand photos I had no hesitation saying yes.

I suggested we meet at Olympic Sculpture Park, a beautiful location on the waterfront of downtown. On my way I stopped by The Seattle Center, getting the iconic monorail shot with MOPOP’s grand colors, classic Space Needle photos, and mostly just enjoying a quiet morning in the city.

We started our walk immediately, wandering through the interesting sculptures and bonding over shared ideas of great backgrounds, great foregrounds, and good locations to stop for a few photos.

We discussed feeling awkward in front of the camera, which is how so many of my sessions start, but by the end, we were both relaxed, laughing, and having comfortable conversations with each other.

It is always inspiring to hear the stories of my clients, their vast arrays of studies, of travels, of teaching, and switching gears in their careers. There is nothing I’d like more than to sit with someone like Aaron for even longer, hearing about his life stories and accomplishments, his struggles, and how he has moved past them.

We yapped about weddings, about photographing weddings, about fixing film cameras, and putting ourselves out there. We yapped about struggles and mistakes, and changing paths in careers. We yapped about dogs, and comfort, and all the things in between.

But mostly, we enjoyed a walk through a beautiful park, and got lovely brand photos for Aaron out of it.

Want to go for a walk to get some branding photos of your own? Send me a message and we can set something up.
